Wetumpka and the surrounding area are rich in outdoor resources. We have some of
the best mountain biking trails in the state, climbing rocks, and the southern-most
whitewater in Alabama. Outdoor activities are a great way to ignite your fitness program.
A day outside can be an amazing workout, challenging your muscles, flexibility and cardio
endurance in ways you never expected. It can spark a new passion and a new reason for fitness!

Mountain biking. Mountain biking on Swayback Trail can be
intimidating for a first timer. Yet, if you've mastered the basics of a two-wheeler,
you can learn to ride these trails safely. A couple of lessons out there
and you'll be riding with the best of them. Fun? You bet! Hard work? Yes.
Fat burning workout? Definitely!

Kayaking. The Coosa River is two, two, two workouts in one!
Flat stretches of warm, friendly water give you an unparalleled cardio and upper body
workout. Fast, frothy whitewater challenges your balance and thinking skills as you
learn to navigate class II whitewater. The Coosa is friendly enough to be paddled by
a first-timer, but with enough challenge to keep experienced kayakers coming back week
after week, year after year. Jeanne is an ACA certified kayaking instructor. Run the

Trail Running. The Swayback Trail is a great location for
trail running. Hiking and running trails abound in the Lake Martin area, too. Join
Jeanne for a tour of some of the local running and hiking trails, or learn
to run on the challenging trail terrain.
