Ignite! offers a unique opportunity to build from beginning runner or walker to a 5k challenge. Designed for "never-ever" runners or those for whom running is a distant memory, a Season to Run uses a proven progression to build cardio endurance. The result is an exhilirating run in a local 5k race in approximately week 12 of the program.
Running can be the perfect way to begin your journey to get in shape or progress your fitness to the next level. But many programs start off too quickly, progress too rapidly or don't offer you the custom feedback you need to make it work for you. Your program will be adjusted to help you reach YOUR goals. Individual feedback and monitoring will help keep you on track, and the group atmosphere will help you stay motivated.
Weekly information sessions provide the knowledge you need to run strong, safe and even stylishly. Sessions on nutrition, injury prevention and what to know to run your first race are part of what makes Season to Run more than just another running program. Two group runs a week keep you progressing on track and provide company and fun.
The heat index in Alabama means that beginning runners tend to struggle. Sessions are not scheduled for the months of July and August. If you have a specific goal for beginning during this period, check out our Running Start program, designed for the individual beginning runner.
